Trauma Release
In the wild, animals will instinctually shake after a traumatic event in order to release muscular tension and calm their nervous system. We are animals too, and experience a similar “fight or flight” response when stressed or frightened. Our bodies are also designed to tremor after trauma to release excess adrenalin and cortisol. But most humans have been conditioned to suppress this kind of natural shaking. The result? Trauma remains held in the body, which can lead to physical and psychological issues, even years and generations later.
Welcome to Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises, or TRE®, an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. TRE® helps you release emotions ranging from mild upset to severe anxiety, whether it’s caused by work stress, excessive worry, conflicts in relationships, physical stresses, or traumas from accidents. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism that generally feels pleasant and soothing, and encourages the body back into a state of balance.
Led by a certified TRE® provider, this class supports your body’s natural cycles of releasing trauma in a safe and controlled space. After learning these simple exercises, you may also opt to practice them independently at home.

"I loved this TRE class. Gerri is very knowledgeable and made everyone feel at ease for such a vulnerable experience. I look forward to using these tools on my own and again as a group."
