  • What should I wear and/or bring to Welcome Goddess?
It’s really up to you and the class in which you are participating. Overall, we recommend comfortable clothing that can accommodate movement, or sitting or lying on the floor. But if you feel like wearing something that makes you feel special and celebrated, go for it! Many of the women in Sensual Flow and Belly Dancing will wear particular clothing for those practices. (Private changing areas are available.) You may want to bring knee pads if your knees are sensitive, particularly for Sensual Flow and Sensual Flow Essentials classes. A journal and pen are always a safe bet. Any class at Welcome Goddess has the potential to unlock inner wisdom that you may want to capture. We have plenty of space to relax after class and privately journal. Welcome Goddess provides mats, cushions, bolsters, and blankets. You are welcome to bring your own such items, or a personal eye mask. Soul Art classes provide all necessary supplies and smocks. If a class requires you to bring something specific, this information will be included in an email after booking. You are also welcome to contact us with questions.
  • Can men come to Welcome Goddess?
Sometimes. Welcome Goddess is a sacred space for anyone who identifies as a woman. For select classes and workshops, we invite all gender identities – including men – to join us. Search the class schedule using the “All Genders” tag to find which classes men may attend.
  • Men need healing too! Where are the dedicated spaces for men to gather in community?
We agree! There is an equally rich history of the special alchemy that happens when men meet and share in a sacred way. While Welcome Goddess is specifically designed for people who identify as women, we look forward to seeing who will create new dedicated spaces for men and support them in their healing.
  • Can children come to Welcome Goddess?
We are proud to offer dedicated programming for girls. The rest of our offerings are open to those 18 and older. While we love children, please do not bring younger children to Welcome Goddess unless it is for a brief period of time and they are not left unattended. (Or a special event specifically allows for younger children.) This is a space for women to recenter and recharge, and that can be difficult with children present.
  • Are trans women welcome at Welcome Goddess?
    Yes!
  • Is Welcome Goddess a place for feminists?
Yes. And… There is a lot of confusion today around the meaning of feminism. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, feminism promotes the “equality of the sexes and the establishment of the political, social, and economic rights of the female sex.” Does anyone disagree that everyone should have access to the same political, social, and economic rights?! Feminism is not about hating men. Feminism is not about lording power over another person or establishing a matriarchy. Feminism isn’t only for women and doesn’t dictate how you look or dress. Feminism doesn’t mean you have to have a certain type of job or pay for everything yourself. When feminism came on the scene in the last century, attempts at equality by our foremothers did look and feel more prescriptive and, well, more masculine. But these women did what they could to achieve in a man’s world – and for that, we are grateful because American women today enjoy more freedom and choice thanks to their efforts. And… inequality is still pervasive. Feminism is about respect for all people, regardless of gender, sexuality or race. If you are down with that belief, you will feel right at home at Welcome Goddess.
  • Can I follow Welcome Goddess on Instagram?
We intentionally do not participate in any social media platforms. The best way to find out about classes and events at Welcome Goddess is to subscribe to our emails and visit our website. We understand that you might enjoy social media and want to post about your time at Welcome Goddess. You are free to do so – but please remember we have a “no photos or videos” policy inside our building. You may take photos or videos in front of the building and in the backyard.
  • Can I take a yoga class at Welcome Goddess?
Not exactly. We love yoga. Many of our teachers also teach yoga elsewhere. Fortunately, there are plenty of great studios to practice yoga in the Denver metro area. Welcome Goddess offers something different. Most of our classes focus on listening to the body and learning to follow its inherent guidance, rather than moving it in a particular way to achieve a certain posture or result. Our classes are also uniquely designed to honor feminine energy and the natural abilities of a woman's body. For instance, so much of our power and intelligence is stored in our lower bodies, particularly our womb space. This area has historically been neglected because, as a society, we spend so much time in our heads. That, and the world has long vilified female sexuality. So, expect a lot of hip circles at Welcome Goddess because we are making up for lost time! If you like yoga, you will love our Moving Mythology class, which features more goddess-inspired movement and yoga poses.
  • I don’t have any experience dancing/meditating/doing breathwork/making art, etc. Can I still come to a class?
We welcome all levels at all classes and workshops, and no previous experience is required. The one exception is our Sensual Flow movement class. To join this class, you must have completed our three-week Sensual Flow Essentials course, or have a history of dancing at S Factor or Sensually Embodied in Boulder.
  • Why are the studios at Welcome Goddess called “caves”?
Caves are mystical spaces in the natural world. Caves are where our ancestors found safety in a harsh world. Women in particular retreated into caves to bleed and birth, and to perform sacred, even secret rituals. In many traditions, caves were seen as portals to another dimension. Caves today remain home to many of the most ancient and intoxicating paintings of early goddess worship. Many have referred to the cave as “the womb of the earth.” At Welcome Goddess, we see our studios as sacred spaces for safety and transformation, and we want to honor them with a unique designation. Caves are also dimly lit – just like many of our classes!
  • Is Welcome Goddess accessible for those with disabilities?
Our second entrance is wheelchair accessible, as are our two studios and main bathroom. For people with visual or hearing impairments, please contact us to discuss how we can help accommodate your visit to Welcome Goddess.
  • Can I make a purchase with cash at Welcome Goddess?
One of the very modern practices we embrace is being cashless. Classes, workshops, and retail items can be purchased with a credit card or direct bank debit via our scheduling app, Momence. However, access is very important to us and we strive to be as inclusive as possible. If you are not able to use a credit card or bank debit, please contact us to discuss other options.
  • What is the cancellation policy at Welcome Goddess?
Given the unique nature of our offerings, Welcome Goddess requires at least 12 hours to cancel a booking for a class or workshop. Any cancellations must be made through our scheduling platform, Momence.
  • Does Welcome Goddess offer financial scholarships?
Not at this time. But it is something we hope to offer in the future. Stay tuned! Meanwhile, we offer a number of free community events every month.
  • Does Welcome Goddess offer classes in Spanish?
No, all of our classes and workshops are currently conducted in English. But we welcome your feedback and will consider other languages if there is a desire in the community.
